Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
It is that time of year when the trees begin to bud, the flowers begin to bloom and the grass begins to grow. I’ve been watching my grass lately and for the life of me I can’t see anything happening. It remains a mystery to me when grass grows because when you’re watching nothing seems to be happening. So, it is with the Word of God. Our responsibility as preachers is to preach the Word. The Lord giveth the increase. It is sufficient enough for us to understand that even when we’re preaching our hearts out and there is no visible indications of activity, the word of God is working and will accomplish what the Lord desires. So, preacher, keep preaching. It may take time but eventually those flowers begin to bloom.

Prov. 18:22 “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.”
Forty years ago, in a class for aspiring pastors I heard a very old preacher tell us that 70 percent of men who fail in ministry, fail because their wives were not sympathetic to the ministry. Those words encouraged and scared me at the same time. I was sure my wife was fully committed to the ministry but could either of us predict what would happen in the future.
Now at the end of my fourth decade in ministry I can tell you with certainty that old preacher was right. I’ve seen entire ministries lost to wives that simply didn’t have a heart for ministry. Preachers and teachers who gave up because they became exhausted dragging a wife into a ministry, she had no heart for. But I have seen the other side of that coin and honestly more often than not. I’ve seen wives hold up their husbands when their strength was failing.
Preacher, thank the Lord every day for a supportive wife. She is the greatest gift you will ever receive in your ministry. She will be your greatest advocate and most faithful critic. She will be a shoulder to cry on when you don’t want anyone to know how much you hurt and she will be your most loyal protector. She is a soft glove that hides the leathered hands of Christian labor and no day is complete without you telling her how much you love her and thanking God for her.

A few weeks ago, Paul, an 86-year-old former deacon of mine, gave me a call to see if I was still breathing. As always Paul had a funny story to tell which made my day. I thought about how much I miss hearing his stories which he shared with the church on various Sunday mornings. I have to admit there were times when it was easier to remember Paul’s story than to remember the message. Without fail Paul would serve up a plate of forget the world and just enjoy yourself for a few moments. Spirits were always lifted, hearts made lighter and fellowship just seemed sweeter.
Pastor, take advantage of the lighter moments. Laugh a little and make others laugh. The benefits are not just momentary, they may last an eternity.

Luke 15:10 “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
They say confession is good for the soul, so here we go. I hate waiting. I spent six years in the Navy waiting in lines. I had to wait in line to eat. I had to wait in line to get paid and everything in between. I really hate waiting. But there are many things in life worth waiting for. That first kiss was worth waiting for. Hearing the love of your life say I do was worth waiting for. And the joy following the birth of your children is worth waiting for.
But nothing can compare to the joy God experiences over the salvation of a sinner. As pastors we have the privilege of planting and watering but oh the joy when God giveth the increase. Its fist pumping; dancing in the isle time. For some this joy happens more often than others but no matter how often it happens it is always a tremendous blessing. The blessing is so great even this old sailor doesn’t mind the wait.

Preparations for End of Life
The following are suggestions for securing all financial and legal documents accounts. In our ever-changing world habits of the past may not be the best practices for today. Cyber Security is a very serious issue and pastors would be wise to become familiar with all aspects of security.
Security
Financial Accounts (create a secure offsite copy)
Everyone loves the simplicity of access to financial accounts at the push of a button. However, when that button is lost or destroyed by fire or some other event, having a secure offsite copy of all critical documents can be a life saver. I admit it is a bit old fashioned however, I recommend having a trusted person, preferably a family member, maintain a digital copy of all passwords and access information to all critical accounts. As a practice I back up my hard drive and send the copy to my son living in Maine. I also have a hard copy I maintain with me whenever both my wife and I are away from home. Backups can also be maintained in the cloud if that is your cup of tea.
The following is a list of items I’ve included in my backups:
A list of all Financial Institutions with whom I have an interest.
Any and all auto withdrawal accounts and access information.
Access information for any crypto accounts. Keep in mind there are multiple factor verifications for crypto accounts and that information and hardware must remain available to your executor. In addition, there are challenge questions that must be answered correctly in order to access these accounts.
Passwords and account access
Passwords are an important key in today’s economy. Even things as simple as accessing health records requires an account with a password. And by the way “password” is a lousy password. Maintain a document with an accurate list of all your passwords and keep it as secure as possible. You may want to entrust that list to someone you trust implicitly.
Power of Attorney
The final document to consider is a Power of Attorney. This document will allow the person of your choice to sign documents on your behalf when you become unable to do so. As always care should be used when granting this POA. Also, a POA can be limited. A POA expires when revoked, or upon the death of the grantor. As with all legal documents, professional assistance should be considered when producing a POA.

1Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”
Over the past few weeks, we have seen the process of nominating and confirming cabinet members. The President entrusted several with extraordinary responsibility and power, and placed his full confidence in them.
As impressive as this is it pales in significant to the responsibility and trust placed on the man of God. The God of Heaven, not the fallible President, has called each of you into His service. And each of you was equipped with the Word of God, not temporal laws written by sinful men. And your purpose was to make an eternal difference in the lives of God’s people and fulfil His plan. So when you get discouraged remember how great a confidence God placed in you putting you into the ministry.

Preparations for End of Life
The following is the second of three lists of items that should be considered for end-of-life planning. As always professional assistance should be sought when making these important decisions.
Last Will and Testament
A last will and testament is a legal document that expresses how you want your property and assets distributed after your death. By spelling out exactly how you would like your estate handled when you die, you can avoid family strife and have peace of mind that they will honor your wishes.
Find Law is a great resource for information concerning wills and trusts.
Funeral Planning
Preplanning funeral arrangements can be a great benefit to your loved ones. Preplanning can eliminate the need to make decisions during a very traumatic time and can ensure your wishes concerning burial and memorial are honored. However, caution should be used prior to prepaying for any services or materials. Legacy.com has an easy-to-understand description of issues to consider when planning a funeral.
https://www.legacy.com/advice/how-to-pre-plan-a-funeral
Death Certificates
I offer this advice based on the number of deaths I have had to oversee. Some entities with whom the executor will have to deal will require original death certificates. Many will not take a photo copy. Most funeral homes will provide up to 25 originals at no cost. Don’t underestimate how many you will need. Get the maximum you can at no cost.
Life Insurance
Many have purchased life insurance in various forms. Regardless of the form, the executor will have to have access to any policies in order to satisfy outstanding liabilities and funeral expenses. End of Life preparation should include the executor knowing the existence of all policies and any beneficiaries.
Social Security and Veterans Administration
As required by law, when appropriate, ensure the Social Security Administration is aware of the passing of a SSI recipient. This also applies to the Veteran Administration. Failure to contact these agencies can complicate settling the estate.

Jude 1:22 “And of some have compassion, making a difference:”
Many years ago, while walking with my brother I mentioned to him all I wanted from life was to make a difference. I thought at the time I would need to accomplish some great feat or perform some great service. I could not have imagined it would have been as simple as showing compassion for the lost. As I approach my seventh decade, I realize the most important thing I have ever done is share Christ. Pastor, don’t let society steal the joy of making a difference. Every time you preach, every time you share God’s word, every time you pray for the lost, you are making a difference and bringing glory to our precious savior.
End of Life Considerations
As I mentioned in last weeks newsletter, I will be providing a few tips concerning End of Life Considerations. The following is the first of three installments. I trust this will be a benefit to you in your ministries.
Medical Considerations
As always it is important to consult professionals when making these important decisions. There are three fundamental legal documents to consider when preparing for end of life:
Health Care Proxy. The HCP is the legal document in which the signer designates another person to make decisions regarding the signer's health care if the signer becomes incapable of making such decisions. Having a HCP eliminates any confusion during uncertain times. The individual entrusted with this responsibility will be aware of your health care wishes in the event you are incapable of communicating them.
Living Will. The LW is a document in which the signer states his or her wishes regarding medical treatment that sustains or prolongs life, especially by invasive or extraordinary means, for use if the signer becomes mentally incompetent or unable to communicate. The LW can be used to express one’s desire to allow life to end naturally as apposed to sustaining life through extraordinary mechanical or medical means.
Do Not Resuscitate. A DNR, or do-not-resuscitate order, is a legal document that instructs healthcare providers not to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if a person's heart stops beating or they stop breathing. It is often used by individuals with terminal illnesses or serious medical conditions who do not wish to undergo resuscitation efforts. In some cases, in the absence of a DNR, resuscitation efforts must be performed by EMT even though life has clearly ceased. Such actions can be traumatic for loved ones to witness.
Insurance Information
Searching for insurance information during an emergency may cause severe anxiety for others that may be entrusted with your care. Make sure all medical insurance information including private policy numbers and contact information are available to your HCP. If you have Medicare, make sure documentation is available to your HCP. For any that are Veterans, if you have care provided by the Veterans Administration, be sure your HCP is aware of the responsibility to contact the VA while receiving emergency care in any facility other than a VA Hospital. Being prepared is the easiest way to make a difficult situation easier for your loved ones.
Care Givers
In simple terms, a caregiver is a person who tends to the needs or concerns of a person with short- or long-term limitations due to illness, injury or disability. (definition provided by Johns Hopkins) There may come a time when for no other reason then age the need for assistance performing daily functions is required. The individual providing the assistance is a Care Giver. The caution here is that our pride may keep us from accepting help when we clearly need it. When it becomes necessary to have a Care Giver understand they are accepting a tremendous burden and generally out of love for you. You may not be able to choose your care giver, but you can choose how you treat them.

1Timothy 1:12-13 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.”
The apostle Paul confessed to one of the most egregious sins recorded in the bible, he persecuted the church of Christ. He not only opposed the teachings of the gospel, he searched out believers and had them arrested; imprisoned; and in some cases, put to death.
Not many of us can confess to so great a transgression but even the most faithful and successful pastors will admit they have made mistakes in their ministries. However, Paul learned an important lesson from his mistakes, he served a forgiving God.
It is easier to believe God will forgive our mistakes than it is for us to forgive ourselves. Pastor, don’t let Satan dredge up that which Christ has placed under the blood. Don’t allow guilt, shame or discouragement to keep you from ministering to a world desperate to hear you. Let the chiefest of sinners teach us a lesson, “the grace of our Lord was (is) exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus”

John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
I’ve often wondered at the statement of Jesus that we will do greater works than those that he did. I’ve never healed the sick. I’ve never caused a blind man to see or made a lame man walk. I’ve certainly never cleansed a leper or raised anyone from the dead. How then have I done greater than these?
Pastor, every time you preach the Word of God you do greater. Every person healed, cleansed or raised from the dead died. When you faithfully preach the Word of God, every soul changed will live forever. Every person healed was healed of a temporary ailment, every soul touched by the Word of God is healed of the most critical eternal ailment, sin. Every person healed by the Word of God is healed completely and eternally. So, my dear friend “preach the word” and do greater than just healing the body, heal the soul.

Daniel 1:8 “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…”
Many are the messages concerning this individual Daniel who “purposed in his heart…” Much credit is given to Daniel and rightfully so for having the courage and conviction to stand and be willing to sacrifice and be sacrificed for his God. At the time it is likely Daniel was in his later teens. How amazing it is that at such a young age one might have such faith.
However, little credit is given to the unknown hero of Daniel’s life. At some time in his past an adult, possibly his father or mother, a teacher or priest or even an older friend shared with him the incredible word of God. At some point while a youth Daniel acquired the knowledge of God and nurtured an incredibly strong faith in Him. This side of glory we will not know who the hero of Daniels life was but needless to say his investment in Daniel is still bearing fruit today.
Over the years I have missed the opportunity to invest in several very successful enterprises. I recall saying I wanted to invest in Microsoft and Apple before they became household names. I got too busy and eventually lost interest. My failure to invest when I knew it was right cost me a significant return.
But every day we have the opportunity to make an even greater investment in the lives of young people. You could be that hero that individual that so affects a young person that they purpose in their heart not to defile themselves and serve the living God. Be someone’s hero, invest in our youth.

2Chron. 15:7 “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.”
Every athlete worth his salt would agree with the saying “no pain no gain”. Each athlete pushes him or herself to achieve the prize or award. Striving to be the best, the fastest, the strongest or the most skilled requires discipline and at times pain. The promise of the reward fuels the athlete to press beyond the pain.
I love reading the Old Testament and finding these principal nuggets upon my road of life. The text reminds us that if we are faithful to the Lord and push beyond the difficulties of life there will be a reward.
I have known many pastors and full-time workers over these past many years. Some I know have experienced life altering difficulties and remained faithful. But what kept each of them pressing forward for the Lord is the promise that their labor was not in vain. There is a reward for faithful service. So, pastor when difficulty comes keep your eyes on the original promise keeper and know your reward is secure in Him.

Psalm 85:6 “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Over the years I’ve learned that from time to time it’s necessary to settle for less than you want. When my wife and I first got married we wanted to have enough kids for a baseball team. We settled for covering the bases. After we had been married a few years, I wanted a new motorcycle. I had to settle for a used 750 Honda. And after getting out of the Navy I wanted to get my family a nice home. I had to settle for a beat-up farm house with no kitchen floor.
Over the past few years, I’ve been praying earnestly for revival in America. Not your typical feel-good revival, but a Holy Spirit fueled, repentance filled nation changing revival. I’ve prayed daily for pastors and churches to be part of this great revival. I’m praying for individuals to repent, for pastors and churches to get on fire for God and for godliness in government.
On January 20th our nation will inaugurate a new president and I for one am thankful to God for Donald Trump’s victory. However, he is not the revival I’ve been praying for. His election represents a reprieve not a revival and I for one will not stop praying to God for a revival such as we have not seen in any of our lifetimes. Pastor, let’s not settle for less than the power of God is able to give. Join me and pray earnestly for revival in America.

Prayer Request
Bro. J.D. Weido:
I have a couple of prayer requests.
1. My PSA count was elevated about four points on my last checkup. Wisdom needed.
2. I’m continually fundraising for our new building project. It will include a fellowship hall, a kitchen, a learning center for our school and the Austin Owen’s Memorial Gymnasium. We will be able to go from 47 in our school to 125. We will then convert our current school building into a preschool. As you can see, we need lots of prayer 🙏 thanks for being my friend.
God is moving on our project on multiple fronts. To God be the Glory. If God lays it on your heart to help in any way, it would be a real encouragement to our people who are fasting and praying 🙏 Bible Baptist Church 2165 Smackover Hwy, El Dorado, Arkansas, 71730
A man told me 100 percent of the people who don’t know will do absolutely nothing. I’ve been telling people. I am trying to get a million people to give us a dollar. lol 😂 God bless you. Bro J. D. Weido

Dear Pastors:
Romans 15:33 “Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”
The apostle Paul closes his letter to the church at Rome with a prayer that “…the God of peace be with you all…” What a great way to say goodbye. And now in these final days of 2024, it’s time to bid farewell to another year and look with great anticipation to the future.
Since moving to Arkansas from New York the Lord has blessed me with a loving church family; a faithful pastor and a ministry I love. I want to express my sincere gratitude to each of you for your faithfulness and fellowship. A special thank you to Bro. Patterson for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful group of men.
Though Paul used these words to say farewell to the church at Rome I would like to use them to encourage you as we embark on the journey called 2025. May “…the God of peace be with you all. Amen”

Ted Patterson, Moderator
Jacksonville Baptist Temple
Dear Pastors:
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!
As we approach the end of this year, I am filled with gratitude for your steadfast leadership, unwavering faith, and dedication to shepherding the flocks entrusted to you. Your commitment to preaching the Word, reaching the lost, and living out the gospel message has been a source of inspiration to us all.
As we reflect on the past year, we are reminded of the challenges we have faced, the victories we have won, and the moments of growth we each have experienced.
As we prepare to enter a new year, may we remember the words of Isaiah 43:18-19: "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.(19) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." Let us embrace the new beginnings and opportunities that God has in store for us, trusting in only His provision and guidance every step of the way.
I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your ministry, your sacrifices, and your unwavering commitment to serving the Lord and His people. It is an honor and a privilege to labor alongside you in the work of the Gospel, and I am grateful for the impact you have made in the lives of the people you serve.
As we conclude this year, let us lift our voices in thanksgiving and praise, seeking God's wisdom and direction for the days ahead. May the God of all grace fill you with all joy and peace during this Christmas season.
Thank you, Pastor, for all that you do. “The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:(25) The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:(26) The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26).
In His service and for His glory,

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Several years ago, when I was young and romantic, I had my wife’s old diamond ring repaired. I hung the ring right in the center of our family Christmas tree where it was easy to see. However, I also wrapped up a small box of worthless metal parts from our family sheet metal shop and put them directly under the ring on the floor. I knew my wife would be so curious about the contents of the box that she would never see the ring directly in front of her. For days she picked up that box. She shook it, rolled it around in her hand and tried in vain to figure out what was inside.
On Christmas morning she couldn’t wait to open the box while still failing to see the precious gift hanging right in front of her. When she finally opened the box, she had that expression of confusion and disbelief on her face. The word priceless comes to mind. When I finally directed her to look above the box it only took a moment to see the precious gift that had been hanging there for over a week.
Brothers, it’s easy to lose sight of the precious gifts the Lord gives when we are distracted by unrealized expectations. James reminds us that every gift God gives is precious including that ministry you serve in. Each person our Lord entrusts to your care is like that diamond ring. Your ministry may not be what you expected but as sure as the sun came up this morning, it is a precious gift for which we ought to be thankful.

In Psalms 5:7 we find David seeking God’s mercy: “But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy:…” David is seeking the loving kindness of God’s continual mercy. God’s faithful love is available for all His children, even those unfaithful to Him. Think of all those broken-hearted ones who show up in our churches that need even a little of God’s mercy and love shown toward them by God’s people. There are those in the congregation who are doing well, who are succeeding in life; but there are those less fortunate who, at times, are struggling just to survive. I once heard a Pastor, referring to a struggling family in his church, comment, “I would never be in that situation. In America I could always find food and work.” That can be a dangerous attitude; let us not tempt God, lest we find ourselves in trouble!
As Pastors and leaders in the church we should always keep in mind that all are in need of mercy! Lk 6:36-37: “Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not and ye shall not be condemned:…” Bro. Jim Stanley

Prov. 31:10“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.”
Forty-eight years ago, I was honored to take a young woman as my wife. (And from time to time, I remind her how very fortunate she was to have been chosen.) During those years she has been the mother of my children, my co-worker and my partner in every poorly thought-out endeavor. She has run machines, functioned as the company driver and maintained our company financials. She participated in my efforts when running for public office and was a reliable pair of hands no matter what the task. Recently, I’ve had to endure some surgery to remove cancer. Once again, my partner and best friend was there. She became my Uber driver, my nurse, my shoulder to cry on and a whole lot more.
I have always known my wife was the heart and soul of our ministry. She encouraged and sacrificed for the ministry and not once asked for anything in return. Even now after retirement she encourages me in every ministry effort. So please allow me to offer some encouragement to our pastors.
I write this to you young pastors, cherish your wife. The journey may have just begun but in her the Lord has given you one of your most precious gifts.
I write this to you mature pastors, cherish your wife. The hurdles you have overcome and the victories you have had have all been shared with your faithful help meet.
I write this to you older pastors, cherish your wife. The road has been long indeed and the baton will soon pass to another but there are still challenges yet to greet. Greet them together. And then perhaps you will truly understand how very fortunate you were to have been chosen.

Gentleman:
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)
I came to this in my reading a few weeks ago. It was a time that I needed the encouragement that this passage brings. All of us are thankful for the Lord’s mercies and his faithfulness. I am thankful that even when we may lack mercy, God does not. Even when we may lack faithfulness or those around us lack faithfulness, God does not. Jeremiah looks at his people and nation lamenting the destruction, but surrounding all of this, he sees the mercy and faithfulness of God.
I thought of these verses in light of ministry. I have often found myself murmuring and complaining about the unfaithfulness that can be present in ministry (particularly youth ministries). I read these verses after a time when I was frustrated with some unfaithfulness. Great is his faithfulness. He will always be faithful when others are not. He will be faithful even when you and I are not. Because of God’s faithfulness, we can continue to serve him. All I have to do when working with youth and the many other hats of ministry is to be faithful to him because I know that he will be faithful. I believe that God blesses the faithfulness of his servants.
When you are discouraged by a lack of faithfulness, look to his faithfulness. Make sure that you remain faithful in the ministry he has called you to; he will bless your faithfulness. God has dealt with me about this. In youth ministry, I can find myself getting frustrated with these things, but I must remain faithful. After all, the ministry is not MY ministry; the youth group of Colonial Baptist Church is not MY youth group, but it is God’s. God will be faithful. All we have to do is be faithful and good stewards of what God has entrusted to us.
“Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.”

If you would like to recommend an individual or company, please send their contact information to me at lrob43@yahoo.com.
Praise Report
Bro. Lenny Roberto
I praise the Lord for the doctors; nurses and attendees that took care of me through my recent surgery. The operation went as well as could be expected and recovery is now underway. All this because the Lord is good. Thank you for your prayers.
As always, if you have any prayer requests or praises, please forward them to Bro. Roberto at lrob43@yahoo.com. We will include them in upcoming newsletters. Also, a reminder that information is being added to the website www.afbf.life as it becomes available.

Joshua 1:9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Many years ago, while serving in the U.S. Navy, I had the opportunity to become a certified diver. I began training in a pool and learned how to use and maintain my equipment. I learned how to breath and monitor my air so as not to run out. I learned safety procedures and to always dive with a friend and many other important lessons. Most importantly I learned to trust my instructor. Because of his experience, knowledge and training I could be confident I would become a proficient diver and safe while in the process.
At our final checkout dive, my instructor directed me to drop tank first into water that appeared to be no more than a few feet deep. I could see the bottom and it was so clear the stones appeared within arm’s reach. Although I questioned the wisdom of dropping tank first into such shallow water I did as I was instructed and went over onto my tanks. After clearing my mask, I was amazed to find that those stones that appeared so close were nearly 30 feet away. My instructor knew exactly what he was doing and all that was required of me was a little faith.
Our relationship to the Lord is much like this. We may from time to time be asked to do something we don’t fully understand. Entering ministry, starting a church, constructing a new building may seem unwise. However, our instructor, the Holy Ghost, is far wiser and cares more for you than you can imagine. He will never lead you without providing the instruction and guidance required for the task set before you. And like my diving instructor, he will be in the water with you.

Mark 8:24“And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.”
Many years ago, I had the opportunity to minister in an inner-city church in Buffalo, New York. The sanctuary could hold in excess of 900 souls however, the remaining eleven members were meeting in essentially a coat room for service. The building was rapidly deteriorating and would require massive repair.
After a few weeks of ministering, I noticed several people from the area attending services. One in particular caught my attention. She appeared to be high on drugs, poorly clothed and in need of help with her personal hygiene. To my everlasting shame I managed to avoid any direct contact with her even though I was glad she was there.
Following the morning service while I was conversing with people more worthy of my time, I began to hear the most beautiful music coming from the piano. I looked back and to my amazement there sat the woman I had so carelessly dismissed as beneath me. As it turned out this woman was a nurse and an accomplished pianist, and had she not been suffering from schizophrenia she could have been playing for the Buffalo Philharmonic.
This is what happens when we see men as trees walking. We overlook and undervalue precious souls sent to us by the Lord. This side of Heaven I will never know what became of this woman but as sure as the sun came up this morning, I will not make that mistake again.

Jonesboro Baptist Church – Jonesboro
Pray for the Lord’s work in Northeast Arkansas. Our dear brothers and sisters at Jonesboro Baptist Church are still in search of a new pastor. They are currently considering a candidate who is also praying for the Lord’s leading. The city has a current population of 80,000 residents. The greater Jonesboro – Paragould area has an estimated population of 180,000 souls. Pray the Lord of the harvest for laborers.
Bible Baptist Church in Paragould is seeking the Lord’s timing for construction of a new building. They have been meeting in a converted home for the past 17 years and the Lord has provided resources to make construction of a new building in the immediate future possible. Pray for wisdom as they move forward with this project. Also, pray for the souls that attended the Bible Conference held this past week.
As always, if you have any prayer requests or praises, please forward them to Bro. Roberto at lrob43@yahoo.com. We will include them in upcoming newsletters. Also, a reminder that information is being added to the website www.afbf.life as it becomes available.
